Canadian Print Scholarship named for Willow CEO Jeff Ekstein
Willow Printing Group takes pride in our advocacy for youth scholarships in the printing industry.
On November 17, Danika Poon was awarded the Warren Wilkins Memorial Scholarship. Melissa Chow received the Don Gain In Memoriam Scholarship. Emma Pereira earned the Jeff Ekstein Honourary Scholarship. Jeff is the president and CEO of Willow Printing Group.
In appreciation for Jeff's leadership, dedication, and philanthropy, the Trustees named a Scholarship in his honour.
Jeff explained his motivation to invest so much energy in this endeavour:
"My belief is that if you take out you must give back. My family has made a living in this industry for three generations. The brightest & best young people are the future of our industry... Being involved with Canadian Print Scholarships is a way to ensure our future for generations to come."
This from the Canadian Print Scholarships website:
A creative thinker, Jeff Chaired the 'Canadian Print Industry Scholarship Trust Fund' for 6 years through to 2022. Jeff's 'coast to coast' vision reinvigorated CPISTF's national network engaging new schools + attracting new industry partners + rewarding many new scholarship students. Jeff drove creation of a new 'Canadian Print Scholarships' brand while transitioning the Fund's resources towards increased scholarship awards and a growing funding base.
Jeff is a tireless, long-serving print industry volunteer. Recognized in 2016 as the 'Community Leader of the Year', Jeff's unselfish commitment for giving back to our industry and to our youth has been a mobilizing force for all sectors of the print + graphics industry.
